Emotional Wellbeing

Chinuch must come through love and connection, as we can tangibly see that education through revealed love is more effective than education through fear and awe.

Emotional Wellbeing is a crucial factor toward academic success and Avodas Hashem.  Various influences in a child’s life which may affect his academic progress are often overlooked.  A child who has a positive sense of wellbeing is able to manage in a healthy way the different emotions and experiences that are typical in the life of a Yeshiva Bochur.  This stage of a child’s life is full of social, physical and academic challenges.  A child who is emotionally healthy will understand how these are part of the normal maturing process and will use them to grow and advance in all areas of his life.

When a child is not given the right emotional support and tools to understand his emotions, then even common adolescent issues can become serious obstacles to his success.  These include, difficulties in learning, social conflicts, health challenges, peer pressure, temptations from internet, and more.  At MLTL Rebbeim make it a point to build a relationship with each bochur.  Talmidim are made to feel that they belong to this Yeshiva and that they matter.  Every Bochur needs to understand that he is important and valued, not based on his academic, or even Ruchniyus achievements, but rather, as Chassidus teaches, that he is a חלק אלו-ה ממעל ממש, and has infinite value in essence.  We strongly believe that the concepts taught in Chassidus are to be applied in actual Avodah and day to day life.  In such an environment, he is encouraged to live up to his potential and work hard to maximize the talents and characteristics he was given – a key ingredient in the recipe for academic success.
